Research Scientist for Digital Twin Development in Food Industry

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at tsenso GmbH, a leading food-tech start-up in Stuttgart. The successful candidate will be part of a larger endeavor coordinated by tsenso GmbH, aiming to develop digital twins for food products using modern experimental techniques.
The position will be located at Freiburg University at the Freiburg Center for Data Analysis and Modelling (FDM), where the candidate will work closely with the Spatial Systems Biology Group led by Dr. Christian Fleck.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Research Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing digital twin models for food products, leveraging expertise in machine learning, statistical data analysis, and bio-chemical processes. The candidate will work on bridging the physical and virtual worlds by feeding sensory data into the digital twin, enabling predictions about the development of physical objects.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of new insights by combining different scientific disciplines, including mathematics, physics, and biology. Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team and excellent programming skills are essential for this role.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering, with a strong background in mathematics, statistical methods, and physics. A true interest in biological problems and experience in doing research in a multi-disciplinary team are also required.
Excellent programming skills, including experience with C, C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages, are necessary for this role. Strong interest in combining different scientific disciplines to develop new insights and excellent command of the English language are also essential.
What We OfferWe offer an interesting and challenging position in applied industrial research, working on scientific problems in a small team. A monthly gross salary will be based on TV-L E13.
