As a specialty provider of primary insurance services Great Lakes Insurance SE with its branches in the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland and its subsidiary in the UK, is an integral part of Munich Re Group and an important enabler for Specialty Insurance Business (GSI - Global Specialty Insurance) closely connected to Munich Re’s reinsurance core business.

GL’s virtual Data Office has recently introduced a Data Governance framework which includes all data management areas such as a data governance role concept, a data catalog, the data lineage and a data quality concept.

This role is a full-time position located in our Data Office. It will help support the overall Great Lake’s Data Governance initiative with a primary focus on leading the data management practices on an operational level including data quality (DQ) and data catalog. It supports GL in the introduction and implementation of a comprehensive data quality management process, brings our data catalog to the next level and always has an overview of our reporting strategy. The scope hereby covers both, Great Lake’s delegated authority and the single risk business, in all locations.

**Your Job**

Working closely with GL’s business teams, UK IT SSO and Munich Re’s data community your responsibilities will include
- Run DQ initiatives and support Data Owners and Data Stewards in the definition of DQ procedures to further improve data capabilities
- Improve and develop data quality, recognize changing business and regulatory requirements at an early stage and adapt data structures accordingly
- Define strategy and standards for (executive) management reporting
- Define and monitor data quality metrics and key performance indicators to track progress and ensure adherence to DQ goals
- Identify potential for automated data processes where applicable
- Develop, maintain and specify the data catalog solution
- Manage and coordinate comprehensive documentation of business meta information
- Coordination of the development and maintenance of the data lineage documentation

**Your Profile**
- University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Data Science or a related field or equivalent level of education/ experience
- Demonstrate a deep expertise of data quality management, data governance, and associated technologies
- Good understanding of data management technologies and practices, including data modeling, data warehousing, data quality, and metadata management
- Ability to translate business requirements into quality validations and implement them in data quality tools
- Solid background in (primary) insurance
- Ability to identify data quality potentials and propose possible solutions
- Technical understanding of data processes, data architecture and reporting
- Familiarity with Munich Re’s data management tool stack, i.e. Alation, Informatica, Databricks etc.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated personality with strong problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders including ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication in English, German skills are beneficial
