We are looking for a Lead Aviation Specialist to join the Offshore Logistics Department and take the lead on assuring aviation safety in our windfarms. You will be reporting to the Head of Offshore Logistics working closely with other specialist both within the team and in the broader organization, supporting the safe commercial use of offshore aviation. You will be tasked with working across the organisation so that operations meet compliance of consents/permits and design parameters/Employers Requirements.

BU Offshore, as member of the Global Offshore Wind Health & Safety Organisation (G+) and HeliOffshore, is committed to developing, maintaining and following the G+ Good Practice Guidelines for Aviation Operations in support of the Global Offshore Wind Industry and associated HeliOffshore Recommended Practices. You will be required to engage with internal and external stakeholders contributing to the development and implementation of relevant guidance and requirements.

The Offshore Logistics team is part of Offshore Wind Generation. We are a team that today consists of 8 colleagues, working on maritime and aviation topics relevant for our operating windfarms including those to come.

What will yo do?

Your role will be a focal point on aviation topics throughout our organisation, leading the Aviation Safety Group to deliver operational, organizational, regulatory and technical aviation guidance for all helicopter and UAV operations as follows:

- Assessing Quality, Health, Safety, Security, Environmental (QHSSE) performance, value and continuous improvement
- Evaluating aviation against other options, the selection of aircraft and aviation operations
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Coexistence between our windfarm operations and aviation operations
- Standardized management of aviation, aligned with the BA Wind Quality Policy
- Engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of international standards and industry guidance
- Striving for business and industry excellence
- Maintaining internal aviation competence
- Investigating and resolving incidents and performance shortfalls

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the internal Aviation Safety Group (ASG).

Vattenfall is, and continues to be, instrumental in the production of industry guidance on the use of aviation in support of offshore wind. Vattenfall’s increasing use of manned and unmanned aviation in the challenging offshore environment require oversight led by the ASG. Accordingly, Vattenfall are looking for an individual that not only has operational offshore flying experience but also experience of aviation safety management, aviation audits and oversight processes that support safe manned and unmanned aviation operations.

Furthermore aviation experience in essential:

- Eight years of experience in offshore commercial aviation in the role of helicopter commander (EASA ATPL(H)), flight hours commensurate with experience but not less than 2,500 hours
- Experience in the European offshore aviation sector for at least 12 months in the last five years
- Experience in conducting flight operations in support of offshore wind
- Experience in conducting both Single and Multi-Pilot operations
- Aviation Lead Auditor certification (Joint Aviation Authority or equivalent - we can support in achieving or renewing that certificate)
- Remote Pilot Certificate issued by an EASA member state or equivalent UAS qualification (we can support in achieving or renewing that certificate)
- Undertaken at least one, if not more, of the following roles:

- Flight safety officer/advisor, quality or health & safety auditor, and/or
- Flight operations inspector for a National Aviation Authority, and/or
- Type Rating Instructor, Type Rating Examiner

Moreover you have:

- Excellent English communication skills
- Communication skills in German, Dutch or Danish is an advantage
- Team player skills, capable of sharing their aviation knowledge within the wider BA Wind community
