The Position
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to join our team as a Global Alliance Lead (GAL) in the Human Pharma segment. The GAL plays a crucial role in driving the success of Boehringer Ingelheim by leading complex, high-value strategic alliances, which are becoming a core value driver for our organization.
As a GAL, you will be responsible for strategically evolving ongoing alliances, anticipating developments within Boehringer Ingelheim, markets, and ongoing partnerships. Your expertise will contribute to the partner & alliance portfolio, realizing high-value partnerships in line with our overall strategy. You will set the strategy for the alliances, you oversee and provide strategic direction for upcoming, new partnerships.
Your leadership will be instrumental in directing and realizing strategic objectives within the governance of the alliances, advancing the development and/or commercialization of the products/portfolio. As a proactive manager, you will ensure the full potential of individual alliances is reached by anticipating and managing potential opportunities and challenges.
The GAL serves as a single point of contact, leading and/or participating in key decision governance bodies in alliances (e.g., JSC). Additionally, you will act as a point of contact for internal senior executives and governance bodies.

**Tasks & responsibilities**:
- You will actively participate in defining and designing the strategy for respective alliances, leading and managing one or more strategic development and/or commercial alliances and align strategic goals across the Alliance team, Therapeutic Area (TA), Regions, Medicine, Finance, Legal, and other involved functions.
- You will lead the respective alliance governance, proposing and implementing execution strategies at all levels.
- Additionally, you will act as a mentor and leader within the AM HPBU team and for Boehringer Ingelheim internal stakeholders.. You will demonstrate the ability to influence and lead more junior team members functionally.
- You will evaluate emerging topics involving alliance conflict/disagreement and implement suitable solutions as required. When necessary, you will manage the comprehensive development of contractual amendments to revise and/or clarify emerging alliance issues, engaging with all appropriate functional support within Boehringer Ingelheim.
- Finally, in collaboration with the Head of Alliance, you will build alliance management competencies and transfer learnings from existing alliances to new ones and serve as a partner to functions involved building potential new alliances to integrate learnings early on.
***Requirements**:
- Master's degree in science or business administration combined with advanced knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven track record as alliance manager
- Ability to lead internal stakeholders and play a leadership role in alliances with strong executive interaction skills
- Contract comprehension and ability to discuss implications and issue management, including planning and executing interventions and managing alliance end-to-end
- Alliance execution skills, including understanding alliance needs and managing risks
- Proactive relationship management with key partners and stakeholders
- Diplomatic, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to understand the impact of execution in corporate and country organizations
- Business acumen, including performance evaluation and deal structure understanding
