Responsibilities

Tasks for this role will include:

- Networks project management activities across Iberdrola Deutschland onshore renewable project portfolio, providing key expertise, assessment and recommendations to ensure the delivery of projects on time, under authorized budget and meeting quality standards by following the highest industry practice and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
- Provide support to the Business Development team for project Due Diligence,and Greenfields projects.
- Ensure the constructability of the engineering and designs.
- Prepare the tender documentation for the Owner Engineering support and
construction services contracts and carry out the technical assessment of the
bids.
- Review progress by Contractors challenging them on their proposals.
- Provide expert advice on appropriate programme strategies / construction
strategies / risk levels and grid interface agreements relative to a multimillion
- dollar, multi-disciplinary, multi-contract work package, to ensure that
cost effective technical solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk
profile is fully understood by the project.
- Ensure that all assessment, advice and recommendations are fully
documented in accordance with all internal quality procedures and industry
best practice, as well as enough technical and commercial due diligence
(whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.
- Ensure delivery of the project or substantial work packages on programme
and budget, working with external vendors, consultants and contractors.
- Ensure that health and safety and environmental requirements are fully
considered and adhered to in design to ensure compliance with legislation
and industry best practice.
- Management of contracts and coordination with Contractors and Local
Authorities.
- Interface and liaise with Distribution System Operators (DSO´s) such as
Minetz, e.dis, etc and Transmission System Operators (TSO´s) like 50Hz,
Tennet, etc in Germany to ensure proper planning and delivery of projects.
- Interface with contractors and suppliers to ensure the progress of the project
and acceptance of the work, dealing with issues as they arise, focuses in the
networks facilities.
- Ensure that the project approach provides benefit to IBERDROLA and their
customers.
- Carry out project progress reporting.
- Manage enquiries and resolution of complaints from contractors and third
parties.
- Coordinate site acceptance tests and commissioning activities, and final site
documentation, until the hand over to the O&M team.
- Compliance with Company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
and ensure that the site works meet the Iberdrola standards.
- Comply with Company levels of service.
- Respond appropriately to Senior Managers, taking ownership and resolving
as appropriate any project issue.
- Be fully aware, informed and up to date of the latest technical developments
and identify and assess suitable alternative solutions which has the potential
to reduce cost and risk, or improve reliability, availability, maintainability and
safety.
- Lead the implementation of Network onshore standards, procedures, tools,
best practices and quality requirements for large scale onshore windfarm /
solar multi-contract work packages to ensure that Networks packages are
delivered according to specification, budget and programme without
compromising safety and quality.
- Working with the Management team, and other departments, where key
project and business decisions (Technical and Commercial) are considered
and approved to secure investment best value.
- Work with other centers of technical excellence across the Iberdrola group to
support synergistic activities and incorporate lessons learned.
- Work with key suppliers and stakeholders in the field, to develop and
understand the leading-edge solutions.
- Ensure lessons learned regarding onshore wind farm / solar development and
construction are captured and shared across the different projects.

Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, related field or the equivalent combination of education. Master degree / Chartered Engineering will also be of consideration.
- 10 + years’ experience in the energy industry, in Network and Grid connection engineering and construction.
- Experience with construction and commissioning of substations and transmission lines projects.
- Ideally experience in construction of wind / solar / batteries projects.

Languages
- German (Native).
- English (full professional competence).
- Spanish and Other Languages will be positively considered.
