**As a Research Scientist at our biotech startup, you will be independently responsible for leading our green R&D initiatives in the area of natural biodegradable materials, encompassing both new and existing product development.**

**Role and Responsibilities**

- **Work with technical teams at BIOWEG to perform a comprehensive life cycle analysis on the process and product.**:
- **Collect and analyze the data related to BIOWEG’s processes.**:
- **Quantify its environmental impact and identify the opportunities to reduce that impact.**:
- **Build Life Cycle Inventories for materials of interest leveraging knowledge of chemical processes, mass, and energy balances.**:
- **Develop Cradle to Gate and Cradle to Grave models.**

**Qualifications and Experience**
**:
- Bachelors/Masters in the field of Environmental Science, Energy/Resource/Product Management, Economic Engineering, Life Cycle Assessment/Sustainability or comparable.**
- **Ability to construct and deconstruct a process/product.**:
- **Ability to structure an impact analysis process and manage the collection of information from various individuals, teams, and other external databases.**:
- **Validate the quality of the data sources and build references.**:
- **Familiarity with one or more carbon impact measurement methodologies is a plus: Carbon Footprint, LCA, GHG Protocol, etc.**:
- **The ability to work with OpenLCA or equivalent is highly desirable.**:
- **Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently as well as in a team.**:
- **Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.***:
- Fluency in English - both verbal and written.**
