**About Important Looking Pirates**:
Important Looking Pirates (ILP) is a multiple VES and Emmy award-winning studio and have created animation and visual effects for some of the greatest storytellers. **About the position**:
We are looking for Senior Build artists to join us on a permanent contract. For this role, we are looking for generalists who are proficient in multiple areas of build such as modelling, texturing and lookdev, both hard surface and organic.

As a build artist at ILP, you will produce beautiful, photorealistic assets for high-end episodic and feature film projects. We value artists with a humble attitude who get excited about learning and teaching new things and, most importantly, who are passionate about creating spectacular, high-quality visual effects.

**Your work will include**: Production of creature work of the highest creative and technical standard.

Creature Modelling/Sculpting. Including retopology, UV mapping and general maintenance/updating multiple geometries. Developing and shading assets using Houdini/Arnold. Texturing assets in Substance Painter/Designer and Mari. Participating in and providing feedback on workflows and standards within the build and lighting teams.

**You need the following**:

- A good understanding of creature/animal/human anatomy and physiology.
- Proven track record of building beautiful high-quality creature assets.
- Thorough knowledge of Maya, Houdini, Mari, and/or Substance Painter/Designer (equivalent experience considered).
- Creature and high end digi-double asset creation.
- Experience with fur/groom techniques (preferably using Houdini).
- Great artistic eye, both for what looks right and how to take it to the next level
- The ability to take ownership of your work
- Great communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- A humble and helpful attitude.

**The following are considered a plus**:

- Experience with USD/Solaris workflows.
- Experience ingesting raw photography, photogrammetry, and scan data using Reality Capture or similar.
- Working knowledge of Maya.
