**What you will deliver**
Data is the backbone of every modern technology business.
As we are on the verge of deploying hundreds of our systems into the field in customer projects, real-world performance data complementing our R&D and factory testing data will become more and more decisive to drive advancements in the following dimensions:
- Product improvements (core technology, engineering optimisation, process simulations, etc.)
- New business models (remote monitoring/operations, predictive maintenance, etc.)
- Commercial certainty (accurate product pricing, tight performance guarantees for system performance, warranty assumptions, etc.)
At this crucial time of our journey, you will have the opportunity to define our data strategy and roadmap, and to build up and lead our Industrial IoT team. You’ll work closely with key business stakeholders, making sure you have clarity about business objectives.
**Key tasks as part of the role**
- Define the scope of and phased implementation strategy for Industrial IoT, data and analytics in coordination with functions such as R&D, engineering, aftersales, etc. for electrolyser process plants
- Responsible for designing and developing industrial IoT and data collection solutions (including sensors) for our product portfolio
- Develop state-of-the-art, agile and efficient software solutions for collecting and interpreting ‘live’ electrolyser data
- Design and develop the IIoT communication modules, for realising the interconnection of industrial devices, and explore the potential value of equipment data.
- Align with legal and commercial functions to ensure inclusion of necessary contractual clauses to allow ITM real-time collection of customer plant data
**Experience / skills you will have**
- Previous experience in creating and leading a similar agile team in delivering a wide-reaching strategy, preferably in an industrial context
- University degree in a scientific discipline with significant programming foundations such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or comparable
- 7-year minimum of IoT-related experience in software development, data analytics, and preferably proficiency in at least one of python, go, java
- Familiar with various network protocols such as OPC, MQTT, TCP/UDP, Modbus, etc., and industrial bus protocols
- Have the capacity to translate business objectives and functionalities into pragmatic digital solutions
- Preferably you are fully accustomed to integrating devices with automation and SCADA systems
