Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a

**PhD (d/f/m) „Moon dust effects on the spacecraft’s;methodology and investigation on the lunar dust contamination for future missions”**

The cleanliness and contamination control department is seeking a highly motivated PhD student for a research project on moon dust contamination and cleanliness in extra planetary environment.

**Your tasks and responsibilities**

PhD for demonstration of developing a method for verification & quantification of lunar dust contamination for the sensitive systems for the criticality analysis and definition of the requirements. Creating standards, deposition methods, in flight detector/sensors to measure the lunar dust.

**Desired skills and qualifications**
- Master or equivalent degree in chemistry, physics, geology, aerospace related

fields.
- Best laboratory practice in the field of chemistry and physics, specifically in

microscopy.
- Good knowledge in contamination and verification methods.
- Excellent and practical knowledge on analytical methods chemical analysis (EDX,

XPS), FTIR, GCMS.
- Knowledge on spacecraft optical systems are advantageous.
- Willing and able to work and communicate in a transnational and transdisciplinary

environment.
- Excellent time and work organization skills required.
- Fluent and good writing skills in English, German.
- Awareness on ECSS and space business product conduct.
- Motivated to learn and grow together with expert engineers in their field.
- Excellent team player, good reporting and excellent communicating skills are required.

Die Abteilung Cleanliness und Contamination Control sucht einen hochmotivierten Doktoranden für ein Forschungsprojekt über Mondstaubkontamination und Sauberkeit in außerplanetarischer Umgebung.

**Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten**

Promotion zur Demonstration der Entwicklung einer Methode zur Verifizierung & Quantifizierung der Mondstaubkontamination für die empfindlichen Systeme zur Kritikalitätsanalyse und Definition der Anforderungen. Erstellung von Standards, Ablagerungsmethoden und In-Flight-Detektoren/Sensoren zur Messung des Mondstaubs.

**Gewünschte Fähigkeiten und Qualifikationen**
- Hochschulabschluss in Chemie, Physik, Geologie oder Luft
- und Raumfahrt verwandte Bereichen
- Laborerfahrung in den Bereichen Chemie und Physik, insbesondere in der Mikroskopie.
- Gute Kenntnisse in Kontaminations
- und Verifikationsmethoden.
- Ausgezeichnete und praktische Kenntnisse der Analysemethoden chemischer Analyse (EDX, XPS), FTIR, GCMS.
- Kenntnisse über optische Systeme für Raumfahrzeuge sind von Vorteil.
- Bereitschaft zur Zusammenarbeit in einem transnationalen und transdisziplinären Umfeld
- Ausgezeichnete Fähigkeiten zur Zeit
- und Arbeitsorganisation erforderlich.
- Fließende und gute Schreibkenntnisse in Englisch und Deutsch.
- Bewusstsein für ECSS und das Verhalten von Raumfahrtprodukten.
- Bereitschaft, gemeinsam mit erfahrenen Ingenieuren auf ihrem Gebiet zu lernen und zu wachsen.
- Ausgezeichnete Teamfähigkeit, gutes Berichtswesen und ausgezeichnete Kommunikationsfähigkeiten sind erforderlich.
