The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

Together with university partners at seven renowned partner sites, we have established the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK).

For the DKTK partner site Berlin we are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the group of “Molecular Tumorpathology” at the Institute of Pathology with Prof. Dr. Christine Sers at the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

The offered position is part of a DKTK strategic initiative to implement patient-derived organoids as models for model clinical outcomes. The project aims to employ advanced single-cell profiling at the RNA and protein levels to unravel molecular insights into cell states, molecular traits of metastases and phenotypic response to therapy on patient-derived organoid cultures from colorectal and pancreatic adenocarinoma patients for personalized therapy.

**Job description**:

- Designing, performing, and analyzing scRNA-seq experiments
- Designing, performing, and analyzing CyTOF experiments
- Mapping signaling networks of patient-derived organoids before and after drug treatment
- Validation experiments (including qPCR, Western blotting, FACS, a.o.)
- Discussing results within the team, the initiative, and with external collaborators
- Presenting data in regular meetings of the consortium

**Requirements**:

- Excellent PhD degree in biology, cancer biology, systems biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, or related disciplines
- Knowledge in oncology and related disciplines
- Experience in the analysis of next-generation sequencing data is an advantage
- Team-oriented and reliable with interdisciplinary communication skills
- Independent and creative working and effective time management
- Excellent English language skills
