Summary

We are looking for a Head of Digital Electronics Excellence (f/m/d) for the Computers & Digital Electronics Engineering department at the Ulm site as soon as possible.

The main department “Computers and Digital Electronics Engineering” is responsible for the design, development and delivery of digital and mixed-signal subsystems, modules, FPGAs, ASICs and PCBs for the Spectrum Dominance, Airborne Solutions and Radar divisions.

The “Digital Electronics Excellence” department is responsible for working on cross-sectional topics in the following specialist areas: “Subsystem Design”, “FPGAs and ASICs”, “Engineering Test Equipment” and “Platform Software”.

Your Tasks- Disciplinary and technical management of the “Digital Electronic Excellence” organizational unit- Creating governance and roadmaps in coordination with the product and system departments in the SDAS and Radar area for modular architectures, operating systems and toolchains used- Initiating, coordinating and defining cross-departmental, cross-sectional architectures, their modules and their provision for the specialist departments- Developing and implementing engineering strategies for hardware, programmable logic and platform software and coordinating these with the relevant stakeholders- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and processes- Budget planning and control- Further development of relevant processes and procedures, identification of potential for improvement and implementation of optimization measures- Ensuring technological competence- Identifying potential for improvement and implementing optimization measures

Your Profile- Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering or comparable- Extensive experience in various engineering areas- Experience in managing employees and in motivating and developing a team- Experience in actively managing internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals- Broad knowledge in the fields of electronics, development processes, development of electronic devices, assemblies and modules as well as standards in military electronics advantageous- Strong communication skills in environments with divergent objectives- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills- Practice-oriented behavior and a “hands-on” mentality- Very good German and English skills
