Scope of workfull-time position suitable for part-time**Responsibilities**:
Duties include teaching and research in the respective department or institute. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications as well as acquire teaching experience. These duties are intended to promote academic achievement. Therefore, at least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the associate’s own academic work.
Specific Duties
Support coordination of research projects of the professorship of Functional Forest Ecology
- explore the role of functional group abundances in biogeochemical cycling
- support the set-up of innovative 3D image analyses
- develop a complementary, innovative research agenda with respect to the functioning and services provided by forest ecosystems at local and global scales
- teach at the bachelor and master level (4 teaching hours p/w)
- support the acquisition of third-party funds
- write and publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals
- present results at national and international conferences
**Requirements**:
Strong skills in experimental ecology of roots and rhizospheres, biogeochemical methods, image analyses and exploration of large data sets are a plus. Team-orientation and interest in conducting interdisciplinary research as well as being proactive. Willingness for field work and research stays abroad. Excellent German and English communication skills (spoken and written).
