Target group
Amount of the scholarship
The scholarship is endowed with EUR 1,300 per month. A family allowance of EUR 200 per month is possible upon request.
Term
The scholarship is granted for up to twelve months. The main objective of the scholarships for completion of the dissertation is to complete the dissertation and submit it within the funding period. As a rule, the funding period is 1 April 2025 up to 31 March 2026.
Selection procedure
The committee for doctoral scholarships consists of the current Vice-President, at least three professors and an academic employee.
Application documents
The following documents in German or in English must be submitted in collated form in one PDF file (exclusion criterion) in the order mentioned below:
- a short letter that includes an explanation as to why a compensation for disadvantages should be granted (max. one page),
- a generally comprehensible summary of the dissertation project (max. one page),
- the exposé (total max. eight pages; the exposé addresses the points of the research status and, if applicable, the applicant's own preliminary work, objectives and research topic, method, expected academic contribution, work plan and schedule within the planned funding period)
- a CV in tabular form,
- the university transcripts,
- if relevant, a description of any work performed in your most recent employment relationships, if the compensation for disadvantages is based on pressure connected to tasks that are unrelated to the doctorate.
An assessment by the supervisor is requested from the dean's office of the relevant department by the committee for doctoral scholarships.
