Director Governmental Affairs

**Reporting**:
Reports to the Head of Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Europe.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Execute the global and develop and execute the regional Governmental Affairs strategy
- Engage with key policy makers and stakeholders at appropriate levels to ensure that the DS point of view is taken into account and track key policies, laws, and regulations impacting pharma and Japan/EU trade
- Identify at an early stage and prioritize emerging regulations and legislation that will impact DS in the EU, and ensure internal awareness: risks and benefits
- Analyze and actively follow trends and changes in the political environment and develop position and messaging papers or comments
- Develop and drive strategic stakeholder management programs or projects and track them
- Participate in trade association meetings
- Organize and prepare key event participations, speeches and interactions of DS-representatives who participate in round tables, negotiations or events
- Build and manage trustful relationships to stakeholders and institutions
- Steers external agencies and monitors their performance
- Work close together with Market Access, Communications, Medical and Commercial on interdisciplinary approaches and alignment
- Foster an open and creative engagement and information culture through a coherent approach across the organization

**Personal skills and professional experience**:

- University degree (e.g. master’s degree in politics, Europe, public affairs, legal, journalism, economics, or similar)
- At least 7 years of demonstrable experience in an PR organization of a company or institution (preferable in the healthcare sector)
- Deep understanding of the European political environment
- Existing own external network
- Personal values matching Daiichi-Sankyo values: integrity, collaboration, commitment and courage are our basic values for the day-to-day interactions with customers and colleagues
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and deliver to deadlines and budget
- Fluently in English (written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel
