**Location is Berlin**

**1. Background**

The Renewables Grid Initiative is a unique collaboration of NGOs and TSOs from across

Europe. We promote transparent, environmentally sensitive grid development to enable a

steady growth of renewable energy and the energy transition.

**2. Specific tasks**

RGI is looking to hire a person with a solid knowledge of the energy sector, who will

contribute to activities conducted under RGI’s technical dimension, dedicated to

understanding and implementing future decarbonised and optimised energy systems. This

position requires strong coordination skills to ensure oversight across different activities,

projects and workstreams within RGI’s technical dimension, leveraging stakeholders’

interactions and looking for synergies within other RGI activities. The Coordinator will be

supervised by the Programme Manager.

**The Coordinator - Energy Systems will work on a wide range of tasks including**:

- Organising and moderating workshops, webinars, conferences and other events with

energy system experts, modellers, civil society, and other actors to reflect on and

discuss the complexities of the future energy systems
- Contributing to the implementation of the projects carried out by RGI
- Providing content-related quality-check to outputs generated in the technical

dimension’s projects and activities
- Feeding relevant knowledge in other activities and projects of RGI, such as the

Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature
- Converting analytical insights into communication material and policy briefs
- Engaging with representatives of the RGI’s ecosystem of actors, including the

ENTSOs, DG Energy, DG Environment, ACER, the broad NGO community, and

academia
- Helping with establishing new relationships and partnerships with RGI’s various

audiences
- Contributing to reporting and fundraising tasks

**3. Qualifications**
- Relevant working experience of at least five years
- Knowledge of the energy system and in particular electricity with a sound

understanding of energy scenario development and modelling
- A good understanding of the EU’s energy policy landscape and the related political

developments
- Knowledge of different stakeholder engagement aspects, especially related to

stakeholder involvement in different energy infrastructure projects
- An understanding of the expectations of different stakeholder groups involved and/or

affected by the energy transition
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; at least one further

European language highly desirable (preferably German)
- Experience in writing funding project proposals and related reporting tasks
- Ability to learn fast, quickly understand new complex issues, work both independently

and in teams and deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously
- A convincing personality with a strong capacity to build up trustful relationships,

ability to speak in front of large audiences and availability to travel
