The Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) is a member of the Helmholtz Association (HGF) and funded by federal and state government. - PhD position in Computational Enhancements for Ocean Modeling (M/F/d)

**Requirements**:
- Master or equivalent degree in applied mathematics, physics, or computer science, with a focus on numerical methods and computational techniques**Desirable skills and knowledge**
- Proficiency in Python is essential for both positions.
- Additional programming skills and experience with climate models or their components will be highly regarded.
- Good knowledge of fluid dynamics will be beneficial.

This position is limited to 3 years pending final approval of funding. The salary will be paid in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the Federation (Tarifvertrag des öffentlichen Dienstes, TVöD Bund), up to salary level **13 (66%).** The place of employment will be **Bremerhaven.**
