**Job description**:The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in the Helmholtz Association is an international biomedical research center dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms of health and disease with the goal to devise new diagnostics and medicines. The MDC is a member of the Helmholtz Association, Germany's largest scientific organization, and offers an engaging research environment with cutting-edge research infrastructure. - Develop generative machine learning models and algorithms for the analysis and

integration of large-scale omics data- Implement and/or tune foundation models for -omics data
- Adapt and utilize methods from explainable artificial intelligence to understand

gene regulatory sequences- Develop and document scalable pipelines for reproducible analyses

- You will:
- Work in an integrated team of experimental and computational scientists (M/F/d) to design projects to decipher gene regulation
- Collaborate with other team members to integrate and interpret data from multiple sources
- Present research findings at internal and external meetings and conferences
- Publish your findings in high-impact scientific journals

**Requirements**:

- PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics
or a related field with a focus on machine learning
- Experience in the analysis of biomedical high-throughput data using cluster/GPU computing resources
- Strong programming skills and experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and/or pyTorch

- Participation in different formats of teaching, training and outreach
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to think creatively
