Spark Networks SE is a leading global dating company with a widening portfolio of premium & freemium apps. These brands include Zoosk, EliteSingles, JDate, Christian Mingle, eDarling, JSwipe, Attractive World and Silver Singles, to name a few Formed in 2017 through the merger of Affinitas GmbH and Spark Networks, Inc., the company has a presence in 29 countries worldwide and is publicly listed on the NYSE American exchange under the ticker symbol “LOV.” The firm continues its steady growth and we are now looking to strengthen our IT team with a Team Lead position at our Berlin headquarters.
Spark's tech team is responsible for driving product development and innovation for a global footprint platform (29 countries), covering many brands. We work in small, focused, business-themed, cross-functional teams using agile practices to create successful products that deliver maximum value for our customers.
As a team lead, you'll start by building your own development team of backend, frontend and mobile engineers. The team will be working on assigned business initiatives. You'll be working closely with product to deliver on your KPIs.

**Requirements**:
- At least one year experience in leading an engineering Team, managing 2 or more direct reports.
- Understanding PHP 7 and Java 9+ (both required, with strong experience in one of them)
- Successfully having designed or implemented medium-sized projects.
- Fluent English skills (written and verbal).
- University degree, with a focus on Engineering, 6+ years’ experience in the industry.

**Your job**
Our Berlin Leadership Team operates as a cross-functional lean & agile team, working in close collaboration with our Marketing team located in the US. We onboarded a Managed Service Provider for innovation and development, as well as platform operations and BPO.
Your job will focus on leading the delivery of new features and customer facing platform improvements through our MSP’s development teams, mostly located in Berlin and Amsterdam.
**Your mission**:
- You will lead and collaborate with our internal product management teams and our MSP’s product engineering teams to ensure new features and platform improvements are developed in the most efficient way.
- Your work with product, design and customer support teams will set direction for the MSP, and your oversight and architectural guidance will ensure that the engineering teams deliver just the results.
- Together with our leadership team and the delivery leads on the MSP side, you build efficient and transparent processes for consistent and predictable delivery.
- You support our product managers in enriching requirements to eliminate technical challenges, security risks. You articulate the goals and objectives to ensure that the engineering teams of our MSP will truly understand the outcome we desire to achieve.
