QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:

- Associate’s degree or current enrollment in an Associate’s program at an accredited institution;
- Ability to learn quickly the rules and procedures that affect the customers of IRSC;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone;
- Knowledge of basic office skills;
- Familiarity with the IRSC website and ability to navigate the Internet;
- Fundamental knowledge of basic mathematics, with higher level skills in grammar, word usage, and reading comprehension;
- Detail oriented;
- Due to the large volume of diverse customers that the Call Center serves, employees that are skilled in multiple languages or have a practical understanding of multiple cultures are preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Serving as an information liaison to College customers that contact the Information Call Center at IRSC;
- Entering information into a prospect database collected from college outreach events;
- Serving as back-up to the Welcome Desk staff in the W-bldg lobby as needed.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Providing information to the public, students and faculty via telephone, mail, and the web and in person when serving at the Welcome Desk;
- Processing and answering inquiries regarding departmental operations, student service functions, contacting institutional personnel, and requests for printed information;
- Assisting students with registration processes on-line and over the phone;
- Making outbound calls to recruit students and/or remind current students and prospects of upcoming events or important deadlines;
- Assisting with college recruitment events;
- Detailing data entry into the prospect database;
- Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to lift medium-sized boxes of printed materials, sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
