**Research group “Battery Production” (BP)**
PEM’s research group “Battery Production Management” deals with topics related to technologies for the production of batteries of the current and next generations. The spectrum ranges from process
planning and design to the design of plant-side optimization and the development of innovative production technologies for the battery of tomorrow. In addition to researching new technologies in its
own pilot line - the “CELLFAB” - in the Electromobility Laboratory (eLab) of RWTH Aachen University, the team also focuses on implementing consulting and industrial projects in order to be able to quickly
transfer the knowledge and results to industry.

**Your Profile**:

- You have a successfully completed university degree (Master or comparable) in the technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering).
- Ideally, you have already gained some practical experience in the field of consulting, development, production or electric mobility.
- You have the self-demand to develop new topics and you use creative freedom.
- You work in a structured and binding manner, you think creatively and pragmatically, you are curious and motivated to always learn something new.
- You have a high willingness to travel and you are flexible.
- You speak and write German and English fluently.

**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:

- You play a decisive role in shaping projects with industry partners from acquisition through planning to execution (e.g. in production and process planning, prototyping, and strategy development in the field of electric mobility).
- You investigate exciting issues in the fields of “battery production”, especially innovative process technology development for today’s and next-gen batteries.
- You develop prototypes and new manufacturing as well as test procedures within the framework of research and industrial projects.
- You supervise students in their final theses and you conduct courses.
- You are given budget and management responsibility at an early stage and you can shape topics on your own responsibility.

**What We Offer**:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of three years.
An extension of at least one year is planned.
The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).
This is a full-time position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.
