**A Day in the Life**
- Supply answers for Tender Submissions; Formulate and update working documents to be used with tender submissions.
- Work on opportunities in the pre-tender phase to avoid non-bid situations further downstream.
- Support for customers relating to the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG).
- Be responsible for the internal implementation as well as independent fulfillment of the requirements of the LkSG, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other laws relating to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
- Resolve of internal and external customer inquiries on ESG.
- Support submissions reporting to national and regional authorities in Germany.
- Support Medtronic’s Global and Western Europa Product Stewardship and Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives and act as a link between the global sustainability units and the German organization.
- Support the German Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) & Regulatory teams by responding to societal trends and customer concerns relating to product transparency.
- Communicate trends in Tender Submissions to Enterprise Product Stewardship to influence product and packaging design and change management in Operating Units and Functions as required.
- Educate, anticipate and influence material developments and product sustainability requirements.
**Must Haves**
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology, Science or a comparable field of study with equivalent related experience in environment, health and safety
- At least 5-7 years of professional experience with regards to Product Stewardship and ESG
- Knowledge of Materials of Concern (MOC) regulations and standards, laws and regulations affecting products and packaging (i.e. EU Medical Device Regulation, Waste Directives, etc.)
- Interest in legal regulations and respective developments re. sustainability
- Knowledge and experience in EHS management systems (i.e. ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO50001) preferred
- Ability to collect and analyse data, assess risk factors and identify solutions to complex problems
- Effective training techniques and skills
- Hands-on mentality, pragmatism and solution orientation
- Fluent spoken and written in German essential as well as English
- Project Leading experience
- Well-developed interpersonal, written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with ability to partner with all levels of the organization.
