The main goal of Research and Transfer is to support faculty through provision of high-level administrative leadership and support in carrying out the above core processes in a successful way. The Director is responsible for managing the following Departments/Units: Research, Transfer and Public Engagement.
**Your responsibilities**:
- organize the implementation of strategic goals;
- actively accompany strategic initiatives and further development of research and transfer support services as well as public engagement events;
- ensure that day-to-day operations of the organization run effectively and efficiently in the above-mentioned Departments/Units;
- define, monitor and optimize processes, including the cross-divisional ones together with the organizational structures involved;
- promote and implement a performance-oriented culture;
- organize, accompany and monitor relevant projects in close cooperation with project managers;
- manage annual budget for the operations of the Departments/Units;
- strengthen and expand the network with our industrial customers;
- accompanying events for networking purposes and client visits on and off campus;
- establish creative freedom for faculty to undertake independent projects that are highly opportunity-driven.
**Your qualifications**:
- master Degree (PhD degree is an advantage);
- min. 5 years of experience in the field of scientific research and/or transfer;
- direct experience in budgeting, project-controlling, audits and project management;
- experience with relevant public funding organizations and programs (for instance Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft or other national funding agencies in Germany and/or abroad, European research funding programs);
- familiarity with Intellectual Property Rights (e.g. patent strategy) and “Tech-Transfer”;
- experience in cooperation with the private sector especially in industries relevant to the university;
- experience in commercial and contractual issues of third-party (public and private) funded research and IP;
- experience in higher education public engagement activities.
