The junior research group will be funded by the (JHF) for a duration of 3 years and should be dedicated to the topic of Nanofluidic Energy Materials. The group leader is expected to hire two PhD students (both TV-L E 13), who will also be funded by JHF. The research group will be embedded in Research Area D of the initiative for an excellence cluster “BlueMat: Water-Driven Materials” at TUHH. The research focus of Area D is sustainable energy generation from environmental processes or industrial waste heat and electrical energy storage, using water or aqueous electrolytes as working fluids in porous media. It is expected that the junior research group establishes strong cooperation within the BlueMat community and builds links to the two collaborative research centers at TUHH: and.

YOUR TASKS
- Planning and implementation of interdisciplinary research projects in the field of Nanofluidic Energy Materials.
- Establishing cooperations within BlueMat
- Establishing and maintaining national and international collaborations with research institutions, universities, authorities and industrial partners.
- Supervision of doctoral students and employees in the junior research group.
- Publication of research results in international journals.

YOUR PROFILE
- Outstanding PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science or a related field
- Outstanding track record, demonstrated by high-impact publications
- Experience in the production of multiscale porous materials.
- Experience with energy materials, in particular with hydrovoltaic processes or electrochemical supercapacitors.
- Beneficial qualifications
- Proven success in attracting third-party funding.
- Experience in the management of research projects and in the supervision of junior scientists.
- Proof of leadership skills or the willingness to acquire them.
