**IHRE AUFGABEN**

Der Schwerpunkt der Professur liegt auf der experimentellen Erforschung der Mechanobiologie von Grenzflächen und in neuronalen Netzwerken. Von besonderem Interesse sind die Grenzflächen zwischen Zellen, Basalmembranen und extrazellulärer Matrix sowie die Auswirkungen zyklischer mechanischer Kräfte. Eine Ausweitung der Forschung auf neurobiologische Fragestellungen ist sehr wünschenswert. Die Forschungsgruppe des erfolgreichen Kandidaten/ der erfolgreichen Kandidatin wird am Forschungszentrum Jülich, Institut für Biologische Informationsverarbeitung 2: Mechanobiologie, angesiedelt sein. Von der erfolgreichen Bewerberin/dem erfolgreichen Bewerber wird erwartet, dass sie/er selbständig ein international sichtbares Forschungsprofil aufbaut sowie zu Lehre und akademischer Verwaltung an der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln und am Forschungszentrum Jülich beiträgt. Zu den Aufgaben der Professur gehört auch die Ausbildung von Studierenden und Doktorand*innen.

**IHR PROFIL**

Wir suchen eine*n Wissenschaftler*in im frühen Karrierestadium mit ausgeprägter Expertise in der Grundlagenforschung zur experimentellen Mechanobiologie. Sie sollten nachweislich in der molekularen Zellbiologie und der transdisziplinären Arbeit erfolgreich sein, insbesondere mit quantitativen biophysikalischen Methoden der Mechanobiologie sowie mit fortgeschrittener Mikroskopie an lebenden Zellen und 3D-Zellkultur. International anerkannte Fachkenntnisse in relevanten Bereichen der Mikro
- und Nanotechnologie werden erwartet.

**Die Stelle einer Juniorprofessorin / eines Juniorprofessors ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt zu besetzen. Die formalen Voraussetzungen sind in - 36 des Hochschulgesetzes (HG NRW) geregelt.**

Im dritten Jahr nach Amtsantritt wird eine Zwischenevaluation durchgeführt. Diese dient als Grundlage für die Entscheidung, ob eine Verlängerung um weitere drei Jahre gewährt wird. Spätestens im sechsten Jahr nach Amtsantritt findet eine abschließende Beurteilung statt. Auf dieser Grundlage wird entschieden, ob die Position auf W2-Niveau verstetigt wird. Beide Evaluationen werden gemäß der Ordnung zur Qualitätssicherung in Tenure Track-Verfahren der Universität zu Köln durchgeführt. Bei der W1-Professur umfasst das Lehrdeputat vier Semesterwochenstunden in der ersten Anstellungsphase sowie fünf Semesterwochenstunden in der zweiten Anstellungsphase. Bei der W2- Professur ist ein Lehrdeputat von in der Regel neun Semesterwochenstunden vorgesehen.
