**Beschreibung**:
**» Your tasks**:
Your responsibilities will include:

- Implement the work-flow for single-cell DNA sequencing
- Preparation of cell samples for sequencing
- Use of established DNA and RNA sequencing procedures
- Conduct collaborative efforts across disciplines
- Direct exchange with the industry partner
- Literature research
- Data analysis (if desired)

**» Your Profile**:

- PhD in biotechnology, biomedicine, cancer biology or a related field
- Advanced experience and publication record in genomics research
- Expertise in next-generation sequencing and single-cell methodology
- Ability to independently drive research projects
- High level of motivation, enthusiasm, resilience and positivity
- Ability and willingness to work in a collaborative team
- Excellent communication in English (written and speech)

**» Our Offer**:
What we have to offer is a vibrant work environment with affiliations at the Department of Translational Genomics, the Mildred Scheel School of Oncology and the Centre for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC). This offers the opportunity of mentoring and interactions with several global scientific leaders in their respective fields in addition to frequent interactions with the group leader and the industry partner. Through our close cooperations with leading computational biology and cancer genomics groups, as well as own expertise and our collaboration with colleagues at BAYER, we provide feedback on the wet-lab part as well as the chance to advance data-analysis skills if desired. In addition, the highly collaborative research environment in Cologne and international collaborators provides us with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including genomics, epigenetics and close connection to the clinics.

**» Your future with us**:
Working at the University Hospital Cologne and the Medical Faculty means helping to shape the future - the future of medicine, of patients and, of course, your own future. You benefit from 60 clinics and institutes as well as numerous other departments and facilities and more than 12,000 jobs. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cologne and the University Hospital Cologne assume important social tasks in research, teaching and patient care. A close network with many university and non-university partners guarantees an internationally successful science and the excellent education of our students.

**» Your future in detail**:
The Brägelmann Lab, based within the Department of Translational Genomics (Head: Prof. Roman Thomas), is committed to improving patient care by studying the evolution and genetic heterogeneity of tumors. We combine genomics technologies, experimental models, and computational biology to investigate how cancers adapt to specific mutations or treatments, aiming to design personalized therapeutic strategies (Brägelmann et al., Nature Comm 2021; Brägelmann et al., Hepatology 2021; Müller,Brägelmann, Can Res 2023). In this industry-funded collaboration project you will perform detailed analyses of genetic and transcriptomic heterogeneity using single-cell DNA and RNA sequencing. Therefore, we are seeking a highly driven postdoctoral fellow for our team who is exited to work with us on these cutting-edge technologies. The areas of focus include next-generation sequencing, genomics, and cell biology. Starting with preparation and processing of cell populations with and without defined genetic alterations for cross-platform analyzes between single-cell and bulk technologies the project will extend into detailed heterogeneity analyses of more complex and ideally clinically relevant samples including tumors or cell therapeutics such as iPSCs.
