**Head of Legal & Compliance**:
**in **Bonn** with the possibility of mobile work**:

- The position is to be filled as soon as possible with an unlimited contract duration. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.- As Head of Legal & Compliance, you will be responsible for the professional, organizational and conceptual development of our Legal & Compliance organizational unit, taking into account the applicable legal conditions. Advising the Executive and Senior management on legal issues is one of your key tasks. The focus is on national and international contract law, public procurement law, association law and general corporate law, trademark law, data protection law and corporate compliance (prevention of corruption, prevention of terrorist financing, conflict of interest management, protection against sexualized violence and child protection and other compliance areas relevant for Welthungerhilfe to be defined by the Executive Management, including the relevant criminal and regulatory offence law).**Your responsibilities**:

- Strategic management as well as professional and organizational development of the Legal & Compliance organizational unit
- Comprehensive, independent and autonomous legal advice (as in-house lawyer) to the Executive Board and Heads of Units on legal issues
- Supporting the Executive Management in the preparation, implementation, documentation and archiving of meetings and resolutions of the association's bodies, as well as in the performance of the Board's supervisory duties
- Legal review and drafting of contracts from a wide range of topics
- Advice on all legal matters of Welthungerhilfe, as well as analysis and assessment of legal risks
- Representing the interests of Welthungerhilfe in legal disputes of the association
- Ensuring that the organization operates in a legally compliant manner both in Germany and internationally
- Maintain and further develop a compliance management system
- Responsible for receiving and following up on complaints and information from stakeholders and whistleblowers
- Informing the Executive Management of actual or impending compliance violations and associated risks
- Monitoring compliance activities across the organization and identifying new trends
- Promoting professional development of employees in the area of law & compliance

**Your profile**:

- A university degree or a degree equivalent to the German 1st state examination, or Master in a field of law
- Relevant experience in foreign contract law, association law, the General Data Protection Regulations and compliance
- At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a similar position, ideally with an international NGO
- Distinctive leadership skills
- Coordination and organizational skills even under high work pressure
- A high degree of cooperation and diplomatic skills
- Persuasive and winning personality, with the ability to represent
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; French language skills are an asset
