QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in student services;
- Understanding of the relationships between secondary school systems and higher education;
- Working knowledge of the admissions requirements for Dual Enrollment students;
- Ability to analyze and improve processes;
- Working knowledge of emerging trends and new state legislation relating to early college programs and initiatives;
- Understanding the dynamics of public school, charter school, homeschool, and private school education;
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service;
- Strong presentation skills;
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and be detailed-oriented;
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Manages all administrative and admissions functions for Dual Enrollment;
- Provides leadership and advocacy for the Dual Enrollment program;
- Promotes Dual Enrollment to students, parents, and high schools;
- Manages Dual Enrollment Information Sessions on and off campus while partnering with school administrators and Campus Directors;
- Updates the Dual Enrollment website as needed;
- Compiles and articulates data and prepares reports related to the Dual Enrollment program;
- Serve as liaison within the College as well as with secondary partners and is the lead contact for Dual Enrollment for all IRSC campuses;
- Builds working relationships with internal departments to ensure students are provided the tools and resources for student success;
- Maintains knowledge of all services provided by the Student Success Division to facilitate a point of entry to the student;
- Performs the administrative and professional duties for the recruitment and transition of high school students into an early college experience;
- Accurately answers inquiries about dual enrollment, course offerings, degree programs, and admissions, both in person, by telephone, and virtually;
- Consistently demonstrates sound professional judgment relative to individual students.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides Dual Enrollment training to other staff members;
- Monitors late registrations, re-registrations, drops, holds, billing, and any errors with student record;
- Maintains necessary records for schools and school districts participating in dual enrollment and providing annual reports on program outcomes;
- Reviews Dual Enrollment registration reports to determine valid enrollment;
- Reviews and updates Dual Enrollment forms, processes, and policies based on legislative mandates and articulation agreements;
- Collaborates with the Dual Enrollment success coach, Dual Enrollment advisors, branch campus dual enrollment contacts, and academic departments to facilitate great service and communication to students, parents, and high school counselors;
- Plans and coordinates recruitment activities to promote dual enrollment;
- Understands and complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA);
- Leads Dual Enrollment committees and associations to represent IRSC;
- Works effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus;
- Provides DEAN counselor training for public and private school counselors and well as technical assistance to new high school counselors;
- Serves as Dual Enrollment contact for textbooks/materials;
- Assists with special projects as needed;
- Completes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Director of Recruitment and Admissions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for an extended period of time, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
