Stuttgart, Deutschland Torc Robotics Vollzeit

**About the Company**

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business.

A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.

Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.

**What **you'll** do**:
We are seeking a deep learning intern (M/F/d) to enhance our simulation toolchain. As a deep learning intern (M/F/d) for simulation, you will help us to generate better simulation approaches using modern machine learning methods such as generative models. You will be responsible for working closely with engineers to drive the advances of AI for simulation that support our internal development and verification of autonomy system.
- Work together with simulation engineers to enhance the simulator used for our system
- Analyze state-of-the art approaches for machine learning based simulation
- Create machine learning models to enhance the realism of simulation on various levels
- Evaluate your approach by including it in our simulation environment and running the full software stack on it.
- Incorporate your approaches in a cloud-based framework to allow the simulation to scale
- Publish your results internally and (if applicable) externally on international conferences

Must be willing to be based locally in Stuttgart, Germany for duration of the internship. The position is hybrid (part of time working from office and part time working from home).

Torc Internships provide a great way for you to hone your skills and see what life at Torc is all about. Our goal is to enable interns (M/F/d) to become full-time Torc'rs.

**What **you'll** need to succeed**:

- Full-time student (M/F/d) pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
- Knowledge of Linux platforms
- Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
- Software development experience
- Familiarity with one or more high-level languages: Python, C/C++
- Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Enthusiasm to take on new challenges and learn new skills
- Willingness to work in an international team

**Bonus Points**
- Familiarity with Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Experience in self-driving car industry
- Experience with simulations
