Job Title: Senior Project Developer – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Location: Berlin or Hamburg, Germany
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy project developer with a strong pipeline of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Germany. With a mission to accelerate the energy transition, they deliver innovative, commercially robust projects that support grid stability and renewable integration.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to take a leading role in the development of BESS projects throughout Germany. Based in Berlin, you will manage projects from early-stage site identification through to ready-to-build, coordinating technical, commercial, and regulatory workstreams to ensure successful delivery.

Lead the full development lifecycle of BESS projects, from site origination and feasibility through permitting and financial close.
Identify, evaluate, and secure suitable project sites across Germany.
Work closely with grid, technical, and commercial teams to integrate all project requirements.
Conduct commercial assessments, support business case development, and contribute to investment decisions.
Monitor industry and regulatory developments to inform project strategy and identify new opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement in project development processes and best practices.

Extensive experience in project development within renewable energy, ideally with exposure to BESS, solar, or onshore wind.
Strong understanding of German permitting processes, land acquisition, and project development frameworks.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and deliver outcomes to defined timelines.
Fluent in German and English.
