Procurement Category Manager - Global Procurement Transformation - Renowned Manufacturer Hybrid - Reutlingen HQ | €85,000–€100,000 total packageI’m currently partnering with a global organisation at the forefront of the energy transition, which is undergoing a significant transformation across its international entities - starting with Procurement.This is a newly shaped opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to lead one of the company’s key global spend areas and drive strategic initiatives that will strengthen supplier partnerships, increase efficiency, and align sourcing decisions with business growth objectives.The organisation operates across multiple continents, with a culture defined by innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. It’s a business where procurement plays a central, strategic role - not just a transactional one.You do not need specifically assigned Category experience; more so the evidenced soft skills and culture fit of creating change, adaptability and creating improvements on a strategic level. The OpportunityAs Category Manager, you will take full ownership of one of the company’s strategic procurement categories.You’ll define and implement the global category strategy, ensuring alignment with local markets while optimising total cost, supply resilience, and business agility.This is a highly visible role, reporting directly to the Director Global Procurement & Supply Chain, and offering the scope to influence decision-making at senior level across regions. Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of the global category strategy, balancing global efficiency with local market needsBuild and manage strategic supplier relationships, ensuring strong performance, innovation, and alignment with business prioritiesGuide and support regional procurement teams on negotiation strategies and supplier engagementDrive cost, performance, and process optimisation through data-driven decision-makingOversee category performance using clear KPIs and market intelligence to identify opportunities and manage riskLead annual category reviews and alignment sessions with key internal stakeholders across sales, operations, and financeFoster capability development and collaboration within the procurement organisation Your Profile5-8+ years of experience in category management or strategic procurement, ideally with a multinational scopeProven success in developing and executing sourcing strategies across complex, high-value categoriesStrong analytical and commercial acumen, with a data-led approach to decision-makingSkilled negotiator with experience managing senior-level supplier relationshipsDemonstrated leadership in cross-functional or matrix environmentsExcellent communication skills in English and German; additional languages are advantageousApply directly or get in touch for a confidential discussion.Please note: in case of a high volume of applicants, we may be unable to offer tailored feedback on each individual application.
