Director DNA & Vector Manufacturing

Reports to: Sr. Director Manufacturing

Working Flexibility: Can differ, would need to be located close to site in the case of emergencies.


The role:

As the Director DNA Manufacturing, you will be at the forefront of DNA generation, a key element in creating innovative therapies. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to build and lead an innovative internal department, while also spearheading external initiatives and strategic plans associated with the platform. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving ground-breaking advancements and delivering cutting-edge solutions in the field of therapeutic development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive, inspire, and nurture the DNA manufacturing team to achieve high performance.
  • Form and oversee a cutting-edge DNA production department, ensuring compliance with GMP standards, and making critical budgetary and staffing decisions.
  • Manage shift operations in the production area, guaranteeing timely batch output, and consistently enhancing process efficiency, costs, and lead times, with a readiness to handle on-call duties during weekends.
  • Work hand-in-hand with development teams to establish a scalable, advanced routine process.
  • Ensure the qualification of facilities, equipment, and staff to maintain superior operational standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans while fostering strong business relationships with external partners.
  • Oversee supplier relationships, particularly with CMO/CDMOs, to ensure quality and efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Hold a university degree in natural sciences or engineering.
  • Bring a minimum of 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
  • Possess deep expertise in DNA production, Plasmid manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience in team building and leadership.
  • Exhibit strong project management capabilities and strategic initiative skills.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, innovative, and well-organized, with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in both German and English.
