We're looking for a Director or VP, AI Applicationsto lead our AI Product Lab and join our 200+ product developmentorganization.

Here's What You'llDo...
  • Set and Drivethe vision and strategy for the application of ML and AI atSmartly.
  • Mentor, grow, and empower your teamsby giving them the skills, confidence and motivation to makedecisions independently that lead to their personal andprofessional success, and help them to become technicalleaders.
  • Challenge and support our engineersand product managers to deliver innovative and high qualityapplications based on applications of machinelearning.
  • Use your skills in data science andmachine learning to understand how creatives work in onlinemarketing and build new tools to optimize and automate ourcustomers' work.
  • Validate new ideas andconcepts by working closely withcustomers.
  • Partner with recruiting to helpscale the team by actively sourcing and closing the besttalent.
  • Serve as a member of the ProductDevelopment Leadership at Smartly.
  • Bring outthe best in the individuals by enabling them to do the best work oftheir lives. Works to forge the bonds of a strongteam.
Here's WhatWe're LookingFor...
  • 12+ years ofexperience in building services andproducts.
  • 6+ years of experience in applyingmachine learning to real-life problems.
  • 5+years of experience in leading teams.
  • Competentwith key technologies in ML; PyTorch, TensorFlow, Python,SQL.
  • Capability to independently build and testprototypes in the data science domain.
  • Apragmatic mindset. We always aim to create value to our customers.We're also working on production systems and our customers'business depends on it.
  • Curiosity and the driveto continuously learn through study and experimentation on thejob.
  • Ability to set a long-term vision for theteam and drive execution towards thatvision.
  • Able to mentor, coach, and develop datascientists and engineers.
  • Understanding ofsecurity and compliance requirements when working with personaldata.
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant field(Mathematics, CS, Physics, …).
  • Excellentwritten and spoken English.
  • Ability andwillingness to work from our office either in Helsinki or Berlinfor three days aweek.
