What you’lldo

  • Establish acoherent, transparent, rigorous risk governance structuresupporting the organisation’s risk strategy.

  • Ensure the organisation’s approach to thetreatment of risk is aligned with its risk appetite andstrategy.

  • Experience inregulatory reporting and educating the rest of the firm on theirresponsibilities to ensure adherence.

  • Demonstrating a solid understanding of liquidityrisk management, stress testing and monte carlosimulations.

  • Provide anoverview and challenge of the trading risk to which the firm isexposed.

  • Provide insightand challenge to all aspects of the strategy and operations of therisk department.

  • Definefirm-wide risk management accountabilities/methodologies that meetstrategic requirements, including detailed policies andprocedures.

  • Ensureappropriate horizon scanning processes are implemented to identifyemerging risks.

  • Review andchallenge the company's new product offering and associatedprocesses to ensure they are robust and fit forpurpose.

  • Establish acomprehensive risk reporting system with other organisationalperformance management structures andprocesses.

  • Defineorganisational Key Risk / Performance Indicators (KRIs/ KPIs) forevaluating risk management performance, strategy, processes, andcontrols.

  • Ensure reportingis continuously developed, accurate, and produced on time to theappropriate audience.

  • Promote the view that risk management is auniversal responsibility and acts as a risk champion across theorganisation.

  • Ensures thatrisk management is embedded throughout change programmes andoutsourced providers.

What you need to have

  • Extensive knowledge of riskmanagement principles and practices.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinkingabilities.

  • High attentionto detail and risk assessment skills.

  • Effective communication and leadershipcapabilities.

  • Financialmanagement, particularly capital and liquiditymanagement.

  • Management andunderstanding of market and credit risk in a retail clientbase.

  • Experience withregulatory risk reporting and compliance.

  • Ability to develop and implement risk mitigationstrategies.

  • Proficiency inrisk management software and tools.

  • Outsourcing/TPRM experience is good tohave.
