Yourresponsibilities

  • Reportingto Director of Power Portfolio Strategy andOptimization
  • Steering the profitability of thewholesale Uniper Power business across Nordics, UK and CEE, byunderstanding and influencing commercial riskexposures
  • Developing and implementingoverarching hedging strategies for the Group’s power portfolioproviding an optimum balance of commodity risk andreward
  • Understanding and consideringimplications on credit and liquidity risk within givenframeworks
  • Overseeing and challenging theindividual portfolio’s hedging strategies considering Group riskboundaries and financial objectives
  • Validatingposition, PnL and risk reports and accuracy of underlyingmathematical models
  • Managing stakeholderrelationships, within CCO Power, e.g. Market Access, as well aswithin Uniper; in particular towards CRO-Teams, Controlling andGroup Finance, as well as towards Asset and Commercial Teams, e.g.,Energy Assets, Sales, Origination, ensuring alignment of theoverall hedging approach and necessaryinputs
  • Building trust across the wider Uniperbusiness by creating transparency of commercial risks and positionsacross the end-to-end power business
  • Leading ateam of experts and manage all aspects of team performance toensure an effective, lean, efficient, commercially focused team,whilst delivering excellent financialresults

Yourprofile

  • Educated to a degreelevel or equivalent in a relevant subject: e.g. engineering,economics, mathematics; additional commercial managementqualification advantageous
  • Minimum of fiveyears’ experience of trading and optimization, with P&Lresponsibility
  • Team leadership experience (linemanagement preferred; project management accepted) and successfultrack record in a commercialenvironment
  • Excellent commercial awareness anddetailed knowledge of physical and financial energymarkets
  • Strong understanding of and affinity tofinancial hedging instruments, quantitative models andstructures
  • Awareness and good understanding ofIT applications for optimization &trading
  • Intercultural effectiveness – steeringand influencing at all levels of theorganization
  • Strong Stakeholder managementskills – demonstrated ability to link different teams to deliverimprovements in overall performance
  • Goodcommunicational skills with ability to target communication todifferent needs of an audience
  • Experience ofoperating in an internationalenvironment
  • Ability to drive change and deliverexceptional results
  • Fluent in English isessential; other EU language would beappreciated
