We areseeking a Cost Management Director to deliver large complexprojects and act as the day-to-day interface with our clientsdriving projects to achieve excellent outcomes. You will have CostManagement experience and have worked on major constructionprojects in the Data Centre, Life Sciences, Industrial,Manufacturing, or Office & Retail sectors. You will have broadexperience in pre-contract cost planning and estimating activities,and post-contract commercial management. You will bring yourpractical expertise and best practice experience and be comfortableoperating in a client-facing role, leading project teams andmanaging complex stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide estimate and cost planning includingproducing and presenting the final estimate.
  • Ability to estimate at conceptual, programming anddetailed level.
  • Compile feasibilitystudies.
  • Perform all aspects of procurement,including managing the pre-qualification stage, produce tenderlists, tender analysis, produce tender report, and compilecontractual documents.
  • Manage post contractcost variances and the change control processes.
  • Manage cost checks and valuation deliverables on largerprojects, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking, andvaluation process.
  • Produce monthly costreports, including presenting to client.
  • Leadvalue engineering initiatives and negotiate and settle finalaccounts.
  • Maintain liaison with client andother consultants at all projects stages.
  • Provide leadership to cost management team and ensure thedelivery of appointed services scope.
  • Identifyopportunities to develop new business opportunities.
  • Identify and implement improvements for cost managementprocedures, templates, and products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering,Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in costmanagement.
  • Experience of leading costmanagement commissions for large construction projects of highcomplexity.
  • Good knowledge of constructionindustry technical matters, such as procurement routes, valuemanagement and value engineering, and life cyclecosting.
  • People management experience,particularly in the context of managing a team delivering aproject.
  • Sound technical experience in allcost management areas; pre-contract, post contract and finalaccount.
  • Good understanding of all mechanical,process, electrical, and plumbing systems, as they relate toconstruction of projects and good understanding of all civils,structural and architectural aspects as they relate to constructionof projects.
  • Experience in the Germanconstruction industry with knowledge of local markets andcontractual documentation is advantageous.
  • English skills are required as well as basic Germanskills (min. B1), and willingness to improve the German languageskills.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation,verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Sound organisational skills; ability to multi-task and bea team player.
  • Working knowledge of MS Officesoftware and tools.
  • Working knowledge of costdatabases and/or estimating software is advantageous.
