We are looking for a German speaking credit analystto join our EU-Based Financial Institutions team. This is a uniqueopportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team culture andcontribute to the success of the largest EU based ratingagency.

You will be responsible for monitoringyour own portfolio of solicited and unsolicited bank and non bankfinancial institutions ratings, as well as assigning new ratings asScope’s coverage grows. You will be the subject matter expert onyour coverage, representing the team and Scope vis-à-vis issuers,investors, regulators and the media and regularly produce researchto bolster Scope’s brand recognition.

Your tasks &responsibilities
  • Conduct ratings andresearch on a portfolio of European financialinstitutions.
  • Lead rating committeediscussions, being responsible for rating recommendations andcommunication with issuers, investors and journalists.
  • Monitor existing ratings and recommend reviews andchanges on a timely basis as necessary.
  • Produce high-quality, insightful and forward-lookingresearch and analytical comments on a timely basis (thematic,name-specific, market-specific, etc.).
  • Attend,and act as a lead rating analyst on meetings with bankrepresentatives, including senior management.
  • Be able to represent Scope Ratings expertise to investorsand other market participants, as well as give presentations andbriefings at a highly professional level.
  • Contribute to the development of Scope’smethodologies.
Your professional& personal profile
  • 10+ years ofrelevant professional experience in the field of bank creditanalysis, gained in a credit rating agency, bank or buy sideinstitution.
  • Excellent familiarity withnumbers and accounting concepts applicable to banks (IFRS and othersystems as necessary), as well as with financial and prudentialratios and other metrics relevant for bank analysis. Goodunderstanding of EU bank regulations and banking-industrytrends.
  • Extensive knowledge of bank debtinstruments and their characteristics.
  • Provenability and willingness to write high-quality and insightfulresearch and comments on a timely basis with minimalsupervision.
  • Excellent written and oralcommunication skills in English and German. Other European languageare a plus.
  • Proficient use of Officeapplications, including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Expertise inPowerBI is considered a strong plus.
  • You areintellectually curious, analytically rigorous and have a keeninterest to take ownership and responsibility of multiple projectsunder tight deadlines that involve both independent and teamwork.
  • You have a confident and professionalappearance and high social and communication skills.
  • You stay cool under pressure, are accountable andreliable and display the highest professional integrity.
  • You are a team player and fun to work with.
