General Manager Air Freight/Sea Freight

Our Client is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our Air and Sea Freight operations, with a primary focus on Sea Freight. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global logistics, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in the 3PL industry. This role is crucial in driving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of our logistics services.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the air and sea freight departments, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation solutions.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize sea freight operations, including route planning, carrier selection, and cargo handling.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and standards.
• Manage and negotiate contracts with carriers, vendors, and service providers to secure the best rates and services.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Leadership and Team Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer-centricity within the team.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development opportunities for team members.

Customer Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their unique logistics needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Address and resolve any customer issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the budget for the air and sea freight departments, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals.
• Monitor and control operational costs to maximize profitability.
• Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management.
