Finance Director, PE-backed Manufacturing Company, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Our client is a manufacturer of paints based near Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia. They are a global player in the decorative paints market and are embarking on an exciting transition under new management, which brings fresh perspectives and a clear vision for the future. As part of this transformation, they are expanding their management team and are seeking a CFO to join them on this dynamic journey. This position offers a unique opportunity to become part of a motivated and rapidly growing company during a pivotal time of change. What the job involves
- Overall responsibility for the group's financial accounting and controlling areas
- Strategic management and operational control of all financial activities of the company
- Development and implementation of financial strategies to support the company's objectives
- Responsibility for financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitoring and analysing financial performance and reporting to management
- Advising management on business decisions and investment projects
- Ensuring compliance with all financial, legal and regulatory requirements
- Managing and developing the finance team to set the business up for growth
- Ensuring effective information flow and communication between various functional areas and units of the group
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, banks and auditors
- Responsibility for budget planning, target/actual reconciliations and optimisation of working capital and cash management
- Implementation and monitoring of internal control systems and risk management processes
- University degree in finance, business administration, or relevant field with excellent grades
- MBA or CPA is a plus
- Extensive professional experience in finance, including several years in a management position
- Proven experience in strategic financial planning and analysis, budgeting and financial reporting
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards (HGB, IFRS)
- Ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and performance driven work environment
- Strong leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, ensuring effective relationships with all key parties
- High integrity and professional behaviour
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience in a manufacturing company is helpful
- Ideally experience with restructuring either in a consulting or operational role
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, essential for financial analysis and presentations
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English, ideally knowledge of French
