CFO, Marketplace Specialist Backed By Private Investors, Frankfurt Region, Germany
**About our client**
Our client is an established e-commerce company focused on marketplace services, backed by successful private investors from the PE and M&A world. They facilitate brands to seamlessly access, manage, and expand their presence across all relevant online marketplaces through a single integrated solution. Now, they are seeking to hire a CFO to join their ambitious team and support them on their growth journey. The position can be based in either Frankfurt (preferred) or Hamburg, Germany. **What the job involves**
- Being a business partner to the CEO and the rest of the management team
- Responsibilities: accounting, controlling, investor relations, tax and legal
- Developing and executing financial strategies in alignment with the company's objectives and growth initiatives
- Designing a best-in-class finance function, with overall leadership responsibility for the company-wide finance team
- Providing relevant information, detailed analysis, and background to underlying business performance, external benchmarks, and insights to support decision-making
- Reporting accurate financial results to the management and shareholders, as well as preparing ad-hoc analyses
- Managing budget preparation and controls, while also providing accurate forecasts and financial statement reporting
- Identifying, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge management-information systems and KPI steering
- Managing cash, liquidity and working capital, as well as the capital structure
- Assisting and driving further financing rounds
- Continuously improving and optimizing finance processes as well as controlling instruments and tools
- Steering of service partners, such as logistics and data administration
- Serving as the main point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and the investors
**Who we are looking for**
- University degree in business administration, finance, or related disciplines
- Significant work experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance in a small
- to medium-sized company
- Previous experience in the commerce sector is beneficial
- Experience within international companies and organizations is appreciated
- Outstanding finance skill set with strong controlling and accounting capabilities
- Solid knowledge in HGB accounting
- Ideally previous exposure to DATEV
- Highly strategic and commercially minded, with sound judgment and a hands-on approach
- Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on the big picture
- Results-driven and goal-oriented, with a constant drive for improvement
- Strong analytical skills, highly data-driven with an affinity for numbers
- Modern, inclusive, and empathetic leadership style
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills with fluency in both German and English
