Job Title: Head of Legal


Location: Berlin, Germany (Remote - Monthly travel to Berlin)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal to join our team. As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for overseeing legal matters within the company and providing strategic guidance to support our business objectives. This is a leading role that requires a combination of legal expertise, business acumen, and strong leadership skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues, including contract negotiations, Corporate Law, and Corporate Governance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Manage and oversee all corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate filings, and compliance with corporate governance best practices.
  • Build and manage relationships with external legal counsel and other advisors as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments and industry trends that may impact the company's operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, HR, and product development, to ensure alignment on legal matters and business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.


Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in Germany.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a combination of in-house and law firm experience.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice and counsel to senior management.
  • Strong understanding of German and EU laws and regulations, particularly in the technology sector.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing legal team.
  • Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken).
