Aquila Clean Energy EMEA is a leading European clean energy business. We deliver affordable clean energy to European consumers through innovative, technology enabled solutions. Since 2006, we've developed and operated renewable energy projects, bringing over 2.5 GW to commercial operation. Our advanced development and construction pipeline exceeds 13 GW in solar PV, onshore wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across 12 European countries.
With a dedicated team of more than 250 employees, we aim to become a major supplier of clean energy in Europe servicing corporate and private consumers. Aquila Clean Energy part of the Aquila Group. The Aquila Group is headquartered in Hamburg, and was incorporated in 2001. Aquila is dedicated to investing in sustainable assets, with total assets under management of c. EUR 14.6bn invested across renewable energy, green logistics, data centers and real estate.
For our headquarters in Hamburg we are looking for an Investment Associate.
Your responsibilities
- Analysis of new opportunities, and support in bidding process.
- Managing due diligence (legal, technical, financial, insurance) for the acquisition and financing of new projects.
- Actively work with internal functions (e.g. risk, legal, tax & accounting) to ensure successful investment execution.
- Preparing documentation necessary for investments decisions (investment memorandum, teasers, board presentations).
- Building and reviewing financial models.
- Supporting in the negotiation of legal documentation negotiation (SPA, development agreement, EPC, loan agreement, PPA).
- Assist with management of ongoing project development activities with local partners and service providers.
- Effectively work with external counterparties to evaluate, structure, and finance both existing and new investments.
Your qualifications
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in the renewable energy market, preferably with a leading investment firm, industry strategic or bank (buy-side/ sell-side, project finance, investment banking and/or consulting).
- Master in business, finance or investment related area.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Precise and reliable working methods coupled with a high degree of independence, implementation strength and flexibility.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and result-oriented.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in financial modelling and continuous readiness for further training in this area.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Fluent in English. Other foreign languages are an advantage.
