Senior Manager Quality Assurance CloudReporting Line: Director QATeam: 5The CompanyOur client is a rapidly growing European cloud provider offering public and private cloud solutions for businesses of all sizes.Product ScopeThe Cloud division covers a range of services, including: - Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS): Compute, network, and storage services - Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS): Containers, databases, Big Data tools, and AI servicesThe RoleThe Manager Quality Assurance Cloud leads a QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of cloud services. The role is based in Berlin and reports to the Head of Cloud Quality Assurance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a team of 5–10 QA engineers, fostering ownership and excellenceDevelop, execute, and automate functional, performance, security, and compliance test suitesEnsure software releases meet quality standards before production deploymentContinuously improve testing frameworks, tools, and methodologiesIntegrate AI to enhance test case generation and QA processesDefine QA processes, standards, and metrics for cloud servicesConduct defect triage, root-cause analysis, and verification of fixesCollaborate with product teams to embed quality considerations early in developmentReport QA status, risks, and progress to leadershipSupport the definition of service-level objectives (SLOs) and agreements (SLAs) from a quality perspectiveKey InteractionsWork closely with technology teams responsible for developing and maintaining the cloud stackCoordinate with operations teams to gain production-environment insightsEngage with support teams on customer-facing issuesCollaborate with product management on roadmap alignmentWork with security teams to ensure QA meets certification and best practice requirementsThe Candidate5+ years in software quality assurance, ideally in cloud or large-scale IT environments2+ years leading a QA team of 5–10 engineersExperience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration, particularly for Golang and Java-based microservicesFamiliar with AI applications in testingStrong understanding of IaaS and PaaS testing challengesHands-on experience with performance, security, and compliance testing toolsDegree in computer science, engineering, or related fieldExcellent communication skills in English and GermanDetail-oriented, proactive, and able to influence cross-functional teamsLocated in, or willing to relocate to, Berlin, Germany
