Position: QHSE Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and revise policies and procedures concerning Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) to ensure adherence to pertinent regulations and standards.
  • Identify potential workplace hazards and risks, evaluate their impact, and devise strategies for their mitigation or elimination.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international QHSE regulations, as well as internal policies.
  • Design and deliver training initiatives to educate staff on safety protocols, quality criteria, and environmental obligations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches, implementing corrective and preventative measures to forestall recurrences.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) linked to quality, safety, and environmental performance, utilizing data to drive continuous improvement endeavors.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to evaluate QHSE compliance, generate comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to management, staff, and relevant stakeholders.

Competencies:

  • Thorough grasp of pertinent local, state, federal, and international QHSE regulations and standards within the relevant industry.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and hazard identification within the workplace, coupled with the ability to formulate and execute risk management strategies.
  • Capability to develop, revise, and disseminate QHSE policies and procedures aligned with regulatory mandates and organizational objectives.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure alignment with QHSE regulations and internal standards.
  • Proficient in leading incident investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and devising corrective and preventive action plans to avert future occurrences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective transmission of QHSE information across all organizational levels, including senior management.
  • Dedication to fostering a culture of continuous improvement in QHSE practices and encouraging innovation in safety and quality.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and the ability to implement quality control measures.
  • Competent in maintaining accurate records, preparing QHSE reports, and presenting findings to management and pertinent stakeholders.
  • Certification in German "Occupational Safety Practices" and SiGeKo certification would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and German is mandatory.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to undertake international travel as needed.
