Tegus Medical is a Hamburg, Germany based company that was founded in 2019 with input from Physicians at the University Hospital of Hamburg. Together, we developed the remote medical proctoring platform, a technological solution that allows Physicians to provide procedure support remotely from anywhere in the world. By empowering Physicians to share their skills in real-time, our aim is to improve Physicians options and success rates during procedures, internal daily operations and also sharing of knowledge and techniques with mentees and junior doctors.


Responsibility and Authority


For our Hamburg office, we are looking for a talented and experienced field support technician (f/m/x). This is a part-time position with potential to grow into a full-time role in the near future. As a Field technician, you will put your knowledge and experience to use assembling, installing, and troubleshooting our camera system either at Tegus HQ or on the customer site. You will work closely with product developers and our customer care team development team.



Key Job Responsibilities



  • Tripod Setup: Efficiently set up, assemble, refurbish, adjust, and maintain our custom-built carbon fiber tripods to ensure stability and optimal performance for camera systems.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of parts and equipment, including tracking, ordering, and ensuring availability for field assignments.
  • Linux Administration: Perform basic Linux administration tasks such as installation, updates, and user management
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with camera hardware, Linux-based systems, carbon fiber tripods, and other related technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, configurations, inventory, and service activities.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, provide technical support, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including IP camera systems and tripods, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on field activities, including any issues encountered and resolutions applied.
  • Travel to client sites to install, configure, and maintain camera systems, including carbon fiber tripods and related hardware.
  • European Travel: Be prepared for occasional travel within Europe to provide on-site support and handle installations and repairs.


Required Skills/Qualifications


  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in related fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a field technician role or similar capacity, with a focus on IP camera hardware, Linux systems, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in basic Linux administration (installation, configuration, command-line operations).
  • Hands-on experience with IP camera hardware, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in inventory management, including tracking, ordering, and managing equipment and parts.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail


Highly desirable skills/experience:


  • Experience with advanced Linux administration or scripting.
  • Background in IT support or technical customer service.
  • Knowledge of IP streaming camera systems
