We are seeking a Head ofEngineering for our Celonis Labsteam.

Therole:

As Head of Labs Engineering,you’ll be responsible for leading, developing and growing the teamof Innovation Engineers. You are responsible for fostering acollaborative culture and enabling your team to be curiousengineers capable of delivering fast paced PoCs, prototypes andentire business solutions. You will work closely with yourcounterparts in Product Management and Architecture as well asother engineering teams within Celonis.

You’ll bemanaging the careers of the team members and their performance, andactively fostering successful group dynamics to help the teamaccomplish their mission. Managers at this level are primarilyfocused on leading and developing high-performing teams,demonstrating strong people management and leadership capabilities.While a solid understanding of technical concepts is important, theemphasis for this role is on effective team management, fosteringcollaboration, and driving the team’s mission forward. Technicaldecisions are often delegated to senior engineers, while themanager ensures alignment with overall objectives and facilitatesthe success of the team

You ensure that your teamhas a manageable level of technical complexity and that they areworking collaboratively with adjacent teams. You also jointlydefine goals/OKRs with other stakeholders, contributing to largerstrategic efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Leadthe Engineers of Celonis Labs to successfully deliver theirmission
• Bridge the gap between Engineers andSenior Leadership ensuring mutual understanding of objectives andexpectations
• Manage the performance ofengineers and support their careerdevelopment
• Build and maintain an engineeringculture of trust, ownership, and collaboration within yourteam
• Encourage and nurture an innovativemindset among engineers to ensure they stay up to date with thelatest technologies
• Own and drive the processof hiring new engineers and growing the career of existing teammembers
• Collaborate with Product Managers,Architects and other leads on goals and strategies around people,technology, and processes
• Advocate for the(whole) team; provide upward and outward visibility of the team andtheir work
• Actively promote team collaborationand solve the impediments of the teamquickly
• Ensure that necessary decisions aretaken and aligned within the engineering team as well as withrelevant stakeholders
• Readiness to roll up yoursleeves to help yourteam

The qualifications youneed:

• Proven leadershipexperience for software engineering roles in aninnovation/accelerator (startup-like)environment
• Strong technical credibility and abroad understanding of the SDLC in Cloud/SaaSenvironments
• Experience navigating projectsthrough the stages of an Innovation framework (in Celonis Labs,projects go through the stages of ideation, exploration,conceptualization, validation and betalaunch)
• Being up-to-date with emergingtechnologies and trends
• Demonstrated strongproduct mindset
• Proven strong people andcommunication skills
• Ability to evangelize theprojects and ideas of CelonisLabs

Ways to standout:

• Strong understanding ofone or multiple of the Business Domains that Celonis operates in(e.g. Order Management, Procurement, Accounts Receivable, AccountsPayable)
• Hands-on experience as a softwareengineer
• Previous experience with our base techstack: Node.js (Typescript), Terraform (IaC), Containers,Kubernetes, AWS,GitHub/Actions
