• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports in compliance with German GAAP (HGB).
• Support the team in overseeing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and internal control procedures.
• Oversee and perform account reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate and complete.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial data integrity.
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
• Train, supervise, and mentor accounting staff.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards.
• Process Improvement: Measure efficiency, suggest, and implement enhancements in accounting processes and the control and risk environment.

Our requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, Steuerberater) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
• In-depth knowledge of German GAAP (HGB).
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics 365) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in German and English at an intermediate or higher level (B2-C1).
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of tax regulations in Germany.
• Experience with financial software and reporting tools
