About the Position:

  • Be part of a diverse team including accelerator physicists, engineers, and laser experts
  • Develop a powerful and efficient few-cycle laser source with extreme post-compression
  • Enhance laser post-compression technology for better compression factors and pulse durations
  • Implement CEP control for post-compressed laser pulses
  • Investigate beam transport of the laser to the electron beam interaction point
  • Contribute to innovative ideas for generating attosecond pulses with Free-Electron Lasers

Required Qualifications:

  • Hold a Ph.D. or Dr. degree in physics, electrical engineering, or similar field
  • Possess strong knowledge of ultrafast laser technology and nonlinear optics
  • Demonstrate expertise in ultrafast optics through experimental and numerical work
  • Experience with pulse characterization tools, optics simulations, and CEP-stable lasers preferred
  • Background in laser pulse post-compression techniques is a bonus
