The Discovery ProteinResearch Sales Leader for Cytiva is responsible for leading theProtein Research organization, driving predictable, effective, andcompliant orders and sales through optimizing resources to coverthe market potential to achieve the operatingplan.

This position is part ofthe Discovery Sales and will be remote based in Europe. At Cytiva,our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery todelivery.

In thisrole, you will have the opportunityto:

  • Team coaching: Drives performance management within the team - BDM's and ProteinResearch Leaders, providing a regular operating mechanism offeedback and coaching and managing the annual appraisal system.Create regular opportunities to involve the team to share bestpractices on opportunity management. Regularly update the team oncompany, region product strategies and customer insights. Coach andassist team members with the differentiation of product offeringsduring the various stages of the sales process to move theopportunity to a successful outcome.
  • FinancialPerformance:  Achieves quarterly and yearly Product OperatingPlan targets (Orders, Sales, and Margin). Oversee integrity ofopportunity pipeline to provide timely, accurate forecasting oforders and sales per the regular reporting cycles within theProduct Business unit, set up normal funnel review rhythms with theteam.  Responsible for developing the yearly business planningcycles within the Product Business unit.
  • Worksclosely with the other regional leaders - Zone Leaders, InsideSales, Field Marketing, Scientific Support/SLS, and CommercialLeader to create alignment around commercial strategy from aproduct standpoint.
  • Customer, Market, andProduct Expertise. Understand and analyze market/competitivedynamics and develop commercial plans to capitalize uponopportunities to grow business. Know, interact, and manageprofessional relations with key customers in biotech, translationalmedicine, and academia to ensure an understanding of needs.Contribute to the new product introduction process with R&D,Marketing, and Product Management to ensure the successful launchof new products. Continuously improve the technical know-how of theCommercial team and ensure proficiency in research instruments withpractical training and routinecommunications.
  • Attract, retain, coach, anddevelop world-class commercial and technical talent to realizeproduct commercialstrategy. 

Theessential requirements of the jobinclude:

  • Bachelor's degreein relevant Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalentyears of experience.  Strong knowledge of the Life ScienceResearch market. 
  • Tenyears of progressive commercial and/or product/business managementexperience in the life sciences industry, including four years ofpeople leadership experience. 
  • Strongleadership, communication, collaboration, coaching, team building,and influencing skills with proven ability to drive and managechange initiatives in a matrixed environment (empowering others tolead)
  • Strong business acumen and financial,organizational, and relationship-buildingskills.
  • Clear strategic thinker who can createcommercial product execution plans and has the tenacity to executewell.
  • Solid problem-solving skills- the abilityto resolve complex problems, communicate issues, and proposesolutions to external customers and internal teammembers.
  • Ability to energize, develop, andbuild rapport, collaborate, and influence at all organizationallevels. Act as an inspirational leader with optimism, highlyapproachable, and humble. Ability to travel up to 30 % of thetime.
