Communications Specialist for Media Relations

Covering for a team member on parental leave (for two years), youâll work as a highly motivated Communications Specialist for Media Relations at the interface between our client-facing business and the public in external communication at BCG. In doing so, youâll successfully turn complex content into understandable and engaging media stories. At the same time, youâll support the dialogue between journalists and BCG experts through our good network in editorial offices and your own media contacts.
With the capability to develop concepts and media pitches relevant to all our CE markets, youâll be responsible for the conceptual planning and implementation of media relations work in the German market. In this context, you'll launch company-relevant topics and studies in business and trade media, particularly in climate & sustainability, industrial goods, energy, and the public sector. Youâll act as a contact for media inquiries from journalists and for BCGâs senior management in their dealings with media representatives. Your area of responsibility will also include conceptualizing and organizing press events and preparing and supporting interviews with BCG senior management. As part of your role, youâll maintain and broaden BCG's contact with journalists and editorial offices. In addition to monitoring and analyzing press reports, youâll identify relevant business topics, trends, rankings, and surveys.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
- You have a degree from an institution of higher learning, ideally in business, social sciences, or communication, as well as relevant journalistic experience.
- You have at least three years of relevant (preferably B2B) practical experience in an editorial office, agency, or the press department of a company or other organization.
- Your written and spoken German and English language skills are excellent.
YOU'LL WORK WITH
Youâll be part of the CE Media Relations Team, working closely with your other Marketing and Communications colleagues across all our markets in Central Europe. The team consists of different profiles that complement each other perfectly. Cross-functional teamwork will be a top priority in your daily work. Your manager will assist you in familiarizing yourself with the company and developing professionally. You will also always be able to draw upon the experience of your other coworkers.
