We are looking for a Hub Lead Natural Resources Europe (m/f/d). We are happy to consider applications from candidates based in any of the following locations: Munich, Paris, Rotterdam, Madrid, Stockholm, Antwerp, Copenhagen or Vienna.

Allianz Commercial has a long-standing tradition of supporting the natural resources industry. Our team has many years of practical experience in leading the largest natural resources projects across the globe.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Global Head of Natural Resources you will develop and execute the Natural Resource (NR) Europe Hub strategy and proactively support the development of the global strategy. Leading the Natural Resources Europe Hub Underwriting team, you will manage the portfolio to ensure successful achievement of targets.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Lead and manage the regional team, including direct reports and management of functional reports
  • Manage the cost centre budget within plan
  • Develop and execute Natural Resources HUB Underwriting strategy and support the development of the global Natural Resources strategy
  • Steer and control the Natural Resources Hub Europe portfolio to drive achievement of financial targets (e.g. full combined ratio)
  • Referral / case Underwriting of key clients as required
  • Proactively support development and implementation of new and modified products
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
  • Positively represent Allianz Commercial internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market


What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Significant experience in Underwriting management position in the Natural Resources line of business
  • Expert understanding of regional / local Natural Resources insurance markets, competitor landscape and legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Well recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market
  • Significant experience in leadership and development of teams internationally and within complex global matrix environments
  • Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Natural Resources
  • Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority.
  • Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
  • Fluent English language skills, French and/or German would be advantageous
